The saga of 4G revolution

When Maslow's pyramid expanded its definition by adding Wi-fi as the most basic need of human life, you must have received it on a very light note. But by now you must have given up to this notion. Who would have thought that this will soon become the reality of our life? It is indeed tough to imagine life without a hi-speed internet. I remember my struggle with internet speed while working for one of the government clients at a hill station. Although, the speed that I was getting was the best one would expect in a place of that kind. But still it was limited to browsing and emailing as streaming a video or a movie was literally out of scope. The sad part was that on one hand I was staying at one of the most famous hill station of our country and at the same time struggling with internet. It was nothing short of an anomaly that consultants like us usually face.

It cannot be denied that we crave for high speed internet. When 3G came to market, I was elated. Then the smartphone market picked up too. Browsing has never been the same sine then. Now the market is ready for the next big move- the 4G market. Sure we are living in such a wonderful era. Witnessing and experiencing the whole internet revolution is a privilege in itself. The era has arrived when streaming a movie online doesn't involve buffering. It's like owning a large local hard disk where you can store infinite number of movies and videos.

However there are still times when I feel restrained because either the internet speed is not good enough to run a heavy online application or I have insufficient data balance. I wish this limitation vanishes in no time and I am quite hopeful of that. The 4G market is expected to bring such revolution. However if there is no speed/data restriction, god saves me. What I'll do with that unbelievable speed? There's no limit. Here's a small list:

  • Streaming Game of Thrones on HD
  • Checking out every other prank videos posted on youtube
  • Playing counter-strike online with no interruptions
  • High quality photo editing
  • Reading harvard case studies
  • Listening to songs courtesy online channels like Saavn.com, Gaana.com etc.
  • Downloading ultra HD videos of Yosemite's night sky
  • Uninterrupted online trading and transaction
  • Storing all my important documents to cloud through google drive, drop-box etc.

Honestly there is no limit to what I would like to do with 4G speed. The revolution has touched our lives from very close. However it is pity to find that more than 3/4th of the population is still not accessing internet.  I wish introduction of 4G would push internet penetration in the rural space of our country.

Currently, I believe,  there are very few players who have introduced their 4G plan in the market. Airtel 4G (http://www.airtel.in/4g/) is the pioneer and the first to roll out 4G services but soon the competition will pick up. I must end by saying, 'Exciting times ahead'.

Storage space running out. Some system functions may not work

The error had been troubling me since long. Finally I managed to find a solution.

Enough of deleting log files and creating space by uninstalling applications. If you facing similar issue, all you need to do is delete your Dumpstate memory.

Dial *#9900# and choose the option Delete Dumpstate/logcat

If your problem is solved, don't forget to say thank you in the comments.

One more tip: If you are tired of your battery problem, click on Low battery dump and switch it on.

myairtel app

The world has changed dramatically especially since the time this electronic boom has happened. Personally I cannot imagine a life without this electronic world. The feeling is so strong that for the services which have not gone online, I tend to curse the owners or the service provider for their lackadaisical attitude or ineptitude . For example I recently wanted to change the broadband plan at my home and for that I was expected to go to the local exchange and write a letter for changing the plan. I don't understand why do I have to waste two hours of mine for this silly work. Today companies are inventing new ways of making the life of a consumer easy and thats exactly how it is going to evolve in the future. For example yesterday I came across myairtel app and I was happy to find such an app which suits exactly my kitty. If I am asked what exactly I like about it,  here are the three features which I can talk about:

1. Everything at one place: I hate it when I have to use multiple apps for the similar services which can be integrated at once. An analogy I can think of is the e-commerce business where same product is being sold at different platforms at different prices. If this is the nature of the market I would want either same price everywhere or there is a platform where I can decide where to buy. Similarly if I have to pay the bill of different services like DTH or phone bill why do I want different platforms. Myairtel app provides that ease and this exactly suits my expectation.

2. Deals and offers and savings: Well it's true that deals and offers are part of a marketing campaign,  I ask what's the harm in availing those coupons and discounts if you were going to buy the product and avail the service anyways. Myairtel is exactly that platform for me through which I can recharge any mobile number and also receive Airtel Surprises coupons in multitude of categories such as food, entertainment, etc. In addition to this there is fun involved too.  One can shake to get exciting deals. Interesting, isn't it?

3. 'I want to' feature: Time,  time,  time.  There is no limit to the greed of saving as much time as I can.  The app is already helping me solve lot of time issues. The 'I Want To' feature is just icing on the cake.  It allows me to tag the frequent tasks such a recharging a phone number on the home screen, thus making it faster and easier. It makes it easier to customize the use of the application to my liking. Today's customer crave for such improvements and so do I.

Redefine your experience with ASUS ZenFone 2

It is not very long when I decided to buy a smartphone for my own use. I had gifted a few to my cousins but was always determined that I would not dive into the world of smartphones and buy a one for myself. The reason was because I found smartphone a wastage of time as I was already very active on facebook and so wasting additional time on applications like watsapp was just too much for me. I resisted it for quite a while before I conceded and finally bought a smartphone device. But when I look back I feel there was still something lacking in my smartphone experience. It was mainly because I chose to buy a basic smartphone instead of the better available options. I knew my experience could be much better if I go for a better model. Recently I stumbled upon ASUS Zenfone 2. It was then I decided to consciously look for the various features of smartphone that are available in the market through which I can enhance my experience. I explored the various features of ASUS Zenfone 2 and What I found was the following (ASUS has been one of my favourite electronics company since my engineering days):
  • 4 GB RAM- My first desktop had a RAM of around 512 MB. Now what I can do with this 4GB RAM in a smartphone is unimaginable. The experience would be truly insane.
  • Better battery: One problem that made me really struggle through using a smartphone was battery. I keep my data package always on which takes a toll on my battery. Now once the phone gets discharged it takes hours to charge it back. With ASUS Zenfone 2's battery I can charge about 60% in no more than 39 minutes.
  • Better camera: Since I purchased a basic smartphone, I always faced the issue of not being able to click a better picture. With ZenFone I can not only take high-resolution pics but I can have better experience of taking brighter photos at night, or in low-light scenes, without the need for a flash.
  • Luxurious UI: Smartphones are nothing but also a device that provides you the required social currency.. If your smartphone doesn't look rich, you often start feeling uncomfortable using it in front of your friends and colleagues. With ASUS's refined ZenUI experience I can get a luxurious experience.
  • Curvaceous look: I am sure its curves are going to make all my friends jealous. That look is just irresistible.
  • Selfie camera: Yes I am a too fond of selfies and I have been yearning for a phone that has a good front camera. This phone gives you a 5MP front camera experience. What else do I need now?
  • Price: After looking at all the feature when I looked at the price I was surprised at first. I looked at it again which made me sure that this is indeed the phone to go for.
I would encourage you to have a look yourself. For more information, you can visit http://www.asus.com/Phones/ZenFone_2_ZE551ML/.

Legendary chatting

Chat, Chat, Chat. The amount of time we spend on these chat apps is humongous. Whatsapp, Hike, WeChat. On one hand they are a boon to our social life. On the other it also bonds you to an addiction. The addiction of checking your chat application every other minute. The best response to such behavior in my opinion is to be aware that you are addicted and to bring some discipline in your virtual life.

Anyways.. Having said that, I was just thinking, 'How awesome would it be to chat with someone who is beyond our reach? I mean fictional characters, stars, and legends who are no more. Well, I wish it was possible. Let's assume for a minute that it is possible. Who would they be and what would I chat about? Lets check out.

Dexter (from Dexter’s Laboratory): A little kid, Dexter, sets up a secret laboratory for himself with a secret entrance to prevent his sister DeeDee from messing up with his experiments. A genius competitor, Mandark, who dislikes Dexter but has got a soft corner for Dexter's sister Deedee. A small family living in a small house (if looked from outside) that holds inside it a secret book which lets one nosedive into the abode of sheer ingenuity. Beyond any doubt, this was my favorite cartoon back those days. But one question always remain unanswered which I'd like to get it answered from the horse's mouth and the reason why I chose dexter to include in this list. “What is the ultimate purpose of keeping that Wrench in continuous motion?”

Munshi Premchand: There is hardly any Hindi Language speaker who has not read the stories of Premchand. Godaan, Kafan, Pus Ki Raat, etc were my personal favourites. He is one of the reason why I revere Hindi Language so much. There are very few story tellers who can match the quality of his work. In fact, there is none. Unfortunately today we look down upon our own language. And the result is most of us are good at neither of the languages. And probably this is the reason why public use of 'Shudh Hindi' attracts the attention of the otherwise indifferent public. I often chat with my friends in 'Shudh Hindi' and I think i am pretty okay at it. I just wish if I can get to chat with him someday in our unofficial national language.

Rabindra Nath Thakur: How can I miss an opportunity to chat with the greatest artist of all, with the master of all!. I’d just like to chat with him. I am not sure what would I ask or what would I chat about. But would just like to experience the moments.

Dhirubhai Ambani: We all have read about him, have seen movies made on him and wished atleast once in life to be that rich and successful. If I ever get an opportunity to chat with him, I’d like to know the secret behind his success and I hope his secret ingredient is not “Nothing” like in Kung-Fu-Panda.
